You will design and build improvements in RELEX across forecasting and replenishment for the international supply chain team of a major German retailer. The business is in a large digital transformation of its end-to-end processes and wants a deep system specialist to take automation further.

The client

A major German retailer running one large estate across several countries, fully live on RELEX. The team works in a product structure and owns replenishment and forecasting end to end, including the interfaces into and out of RELEX. A separate project team runs programme delivery, so this seat stays technical. The team describes its culture as open and honest, with some fun and a constant push for the next level of automation.

What you’ll do

• Design and build business rules, TQL and event logic in RELEX, with changes that land across every country
• Build new allocation logic for store or distribution centre ordering
• Develop new safety stock logic
• Add new effects and features to the machine learning forecast
• Work across forecasting and replenishment, as the system is integrated

What you need

• Hands-on RELEX experience, from consulting or in-house. Earlier-career experience is fine if the mindset is right
• Examples of solving a planning problem by building a business rule or event rather than checking it manually
• A strength in either replenishment or forecasting, and the appetite to work across both
• Fluent English
• The right to work in Germany

Useful, not essential

• Coding of any kind, such as TQL, SQL, Python or VBA. This is strongly preferred
• Machine learning forecasting experience
• German

Worth knowing upfront

• Location: North Rhine-Westphalia, with 3 days on site.
• Language: English is mandatory. German makes life easier but is not required
• Pay: fully fixed with no bonus, and an annual review based on performance. Tom will cover the salary on a first call
• Level: Manager, with a route to Senior Manager
• Benefits: 30 days’ holiday and flexible hours
• Scope: this is a specialist seat, not project management. If you want to run programmes and stakeholders, it will feel narrower than you want
• Headcount: the client would hire two people if two strong candidates appear
